The TALI Internship Experience

Meeting new people can be nerve-wracking, but the TALI team made me feel at ease. Lunch breaks were always good and the work environment was super laid-back and friendly. Despite the chill vibe, everyone was super professional and really into what they were doing. I learned a lot of skills during my internship and felt like I was a part of a close-knit team working together to achieve great results.

5 LESSONS I LEARNED FROM MY INTERNSHIP

Time management makes a difference.

There were times when I got so caught up in a project that it took me way longer than it should to finish. Working in an agency was such a unique experience for me because everything was fast-paced. To keep up with multiple tasks and deadlines, our Creative Director, Cris Dumlao, taught me to set mini-deadlines for myself on specific tasks. This helped me stay on track and avoid spending too much time on a single project.

Feedback is not your enemy.

Feedback is such a powerful tool for self-improvement. I always made it a point to ask for feedback from colleagues and used it to keep improving with every project given my way. As an intern, constructive criticism helped me figure out what I needed to work on and also highlighted where I was making progress. It also gave me a new perspective on how to approach things.

It’s okay to get out of your comfort zone.

One of the best things I did during my internship was get out of my comfort zone. I used to hold myself back a lot, kind of like putting myself in a cage. But I realized that doing that just kept me from growing as a person. My internship at TALI pushed me to take on challenges I would’ve avoided. Every time I try something unfamiliar, it always ends up being a huge learning experience.

Have a keen eye for detail.

As a graphic designer intern at TALI, I had the chance to work on all sorts of designs for different brands. With all the feedback I received and observed, I leveled up my attention to detail. Now, I'm much better at spotting small touches that can make a huge difference in a design. I know there’s still a lot for me to learn in this field, but just seeing myself improve has been a total game-changer.

My first internship was an incredible adventure that truly opened my eyes. I dove into challenges headfirst, soaking up knowledge and growing in ways I never expected. From mastering time management to actively seeking feedback, I discovered that being open to new experiences made all the difference.

For those of you stepping into your TALI internship, remember this: don’t shy away from pushing your boundaries. Internships are a golden opportunity to learn, and sometimes that means tackling tasks that feel a bit daunting. It’s in those moments that you'll hone your skills and build your confidence.

And here’s a little tip: celebrate those small victories along the way! Each step forward is worth acknowledging. Most importantly, embrace every moment and enjoy the ride! You’re in for an unforgettable experience.
