Vans Announces The Return of the KNU Skool
The Late 90’s Skate Style is Back
Manila, Philippines (May 25, 2023) - Vans, the original action sports brand and global champion of creative exploration, brings back the late ‘90s skate style in its latest product release. The Knu Skool collection features striking color contrasts on the timeless Vans Old Skool silhouette with the signature puffy design.

Redesigned based on Vans' classic Old Skool, the Knu Skool silhouette was born in 1998 with enlarged and modified features to present a trending skateboarding style. The shoe's enlarged and thickened toe box, tongue, side stripes, and other intricate details, give the Knu Skool an unmistakable identity. In this latest release, Vans has applied four color-block designs to the Knu Skool, giving its retro core a more modern presentation. Two shoe styles feature simple black suede material covering the front and back of the shoe, with eye-catching red and purple accents on the sides and white enlarged side stripes, adding color richness and depth; the green-dominant shoe style uses bright yellow to embellish the enlarged side stripes. To balance the overall visual sense of the collection, Vans has also incorporated an off-white color scheme and, for the first time on the Knu Skool, a brown gum sole to enhance its retro feel.
